2023 Main Sessions & Workshops

2023 Main Sessions

Mobilizing the Church to Live the Great Commission - Tim Wallingford
The expansion of the early church in Acts was not initially done by the apostles, but rather 3-year-old Christians! They were scattered by persecution throughout Judea, Samaria and beyond. "Those who were scattered preached the word wherever they went" (Acts 8:4). How could 3-year-old believers be so effective in personal evangelism? This message will reveal the answers.

Loving God and Loving People in a World of Chaos - Tom Anthony

Jesus gave us a simple command.  He encouraged us to love God and love people.  But the words chosen throughout Scripture for the word "love" have an incredibly deep meaning for us. This session will present the surprising meaning behind Hesed and Agape, and the brain science to support it.

Love Your Neighbor - Tom Anthony

What if when Jesus commanded us to love our neighbor that he meant our actual neighbor?  When we think of "reaching the world," the task seems overwhelming. Viewing this command through a simple lens makes it possible for anyone.  This session will take an old approach to the simplicity of spreading the Gospel.

2023 Workshop/Breakouts

Three Keys to Live the Great Commission, led by Tim Wallingford - This workshop will provide simple, practical ways to engage co-workers, friends, and family with the gospel through three levels of engagement: God responses (flags), God conversations, and God encounters. You will leave this workshop with confidence and excitement to engage your circle of influence!

We Are Them - Exploring truth and grace about abortion from the inside out, led by Carolyn Doyle and Pat VaderKolk  In this breakout we will learn the importance of being safe enough for brave conversations to take place within the church. The reality is that truth and grace often collide. We will have vulnerable conversations about how to walk humbly, understand truth and exercise grace in a way that allows broken stories to be told so that wholeness and healing can take place.

Serving as the Church, led by Matt Barnum - This breakout will examine what it means to serve as a full embodiment of a kingdom shaped community. What does it look like to be the church outside the Sunday Service? How do we serve in such a way as to be uniquely different from secular philanthropic efforts?

Launching Small Groups, led by Tom Anthony - Whether your church doesn't have any small groups of if your small groups are struggling, we can all use help in developing a simple structure to our small groups.  The good news is the tools and resources are already in your church.  In this breakout, we'll explore a clear strategy for how to develop a thriving small group ministry in your church.

Building Missional Small Groups, led by Tom Anthony - If you would like to see your small groups as more than just "gatherings of the already convinced," this breakout is for you.  Most small groups are designed to produce exactly what they are getting.  With just a few small adjustments, you can build a small group ministry that reaches your neighbors with the Gospel.
